Refit for the Barky - 2010

Current Status

There are certain costs involved in keeping the barky, including the costs of registering our domains and maintaining the hardware on which the list, web and DNS (internet addressing) servers and WikiPOBia operate. It has been a bit more than four years since our last fundraising effort, and given recent needs of hardware repairs, the the time has come to once again pass the hat, so to speak.

In order to keep the hardware running, one of our servers has been rebuilt ($428) and new Uninterruptable Power Supplies (4 at $292 each) have been installed on all the servers. In light of this, your Admins have set a goal of US$2300. As always, donations will be kept anonymous, and making a contribution is completely voluntary. Everyone is welcome to the list, whether you choose to make a contribution or not. The only requirement to be part of the list remains a willingness to read and/or discuss the works of Patrick O'Brian, and everything else.

As has been the practice in the past, it is preferred that donations be made via the PayPal account of List Admin Larry Finch. Additionally, the Harbour Master has offered to make a contribution of $1 for every $2 that other lissuns donate by April 30.

Contributions to date:

Goal (US $):
$2300
$2079.24   from   48 Lissuns
Current Balance:

How to contribute

Larry Finch will coordinate the collection. We have several ways that you can send us contributions:

PAYPAL

Paypal is an internet payment service, widely used on E-Bay and similar sites. Paypal allows you to send payments through your MasterCard or Visa as a purchase (not a cash advance) or through an electronic funds transfer from your checking account. You can also deposit money to your own Paypal account and earn Money Market interest rates on it.

If you have a Paypal account, you can send a contribution to finches@bellatlantic.net through Paypal. If you do not currently have one, you can go to https://www.paypal.com and open one quite easily.

CHECK or MONEY ORDER

Checks drawn on US banks or International Postal Money Orders (available for a nominal charge at post offices in most countries) in US Dollars, can be made payable to Larry Finch and mailed to:

Larry Finch
P.O. Box 1204
Maywood, NJ 07607
USA

In each case, e-mail Larry at finches@bellatlantic.net to let him know that it's on the way.
